The launch of the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette was one of the most-hyped releases of 2016, so it’s no surprise that they’ve brought it back for a second time. I tried to avoid the hype when it first launched but when Mecca sent the palette through to celebrate the upcoming relaunch, I literally gasped at it’s beauty when I opened it up.
The range of shades in the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette* is perfect for anyone that likes a bit of a warm tone. It could also be a good one for those who are looking at getting outside their comfort zone a little. Full of delicious peaches and beautiful neutrals, I can totally understand why this was such a hit. Although the palette looks a little unorganized at first, it begins to make sense when you start playing with everything. I’ve been actively trying to include a couple more of the peachier shades in my eye looks since adding this to my collection and it’s actually been much easier to do than I expected.
But of course, you’re here for the swatches. Or maybe you’re here because you need to hear from one more person that you need this palette. Well, I’ll be happy to oblige on both counts.
I was expecting a couple of dud shades, based on reviews I’d read but I was actually fairly impressed. Only a couple of the matte shades weren’t quite up to par. The shimmer shades are incredibly smooth and pigmented – super impressed. As for the mattes, although they’re not quite as soft and bendable as some of my favorite all-matte palettes, they well and truly get the job done. It’s also worth noting that the palette smells like delicious, sweet peaches. I quite enjoy it but it could be a little sickly if you’re not into strong sweet scents.
The first row is primarily made up of shimmers, with my favorite being Luscious, of course. They all perform beautifully when swatched, with both of the mattes in the row also holding their own.
The second row is just as impressive. The only exception is Candied Peach which is a little patchy and tends to drag on the lid if you’re not careful. Delectable is also not quite as smooth as expected, losing it’s sheen when swatched or applied to the eye.
The third row has a couple more mattes that all perform well, including Peaches ‘N Creme & Georgia, two beautiful transition shades that I can’t stop reaching for. Caramelized is definitely the high achiever of the palette, my favorite shade to throw all over the lid. Talk Derby To Me, the black with pink, purple and peach glitter is another that wasn’t quite as impressive. The glitter doesn’t really translate, as is often the case with glittery blacks, and it struggles with pigmentation.
Overall, I think this palette is an awesome addition to any eye shadow palette lovers collection. A couple of the shades are incredibly unique but overall, there’s a bunch that you’ll probably already have in your collection. If your palette collection looks a little like mine (bursting at the seams and full of neutrals) it’s not a total necessity but man, is it pretty. I’ve been getting a lot of use out of this palette and I’m sure if you’re a fan of slightly warm toned neutrals, you will too.
IS THIS PALETTE ON YOUR WISHLIST?
Stay Toned !
XOXO
