SIGMA F56 ACCENTUATE HIGHLIGHTER BRUSH
The strangest one of the bunch and admittedly, the one I get the least amount of use out of. It’s a dense, curved brush with very short bristles but it fits perfectly onto the top of the cheekbone to really precisely place highlighter. I like to use this brush with my more subtle highlighters as the short bristles really buff it out to make sure it looks super natural.
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS A23 BRUSH
I was initially not a huge fan of this brush but lately, I’ve been using it a lot. It’s perfectly sized and fluffy which means it’s perfect to use with my more intensely pigmented highlighters. It diffuses the colour out so I’m looking glowy but never over the top. It’s a particular favorite to pair with the ABH Illuminators that I love so dearly.
SEPHORA 98 PRO HIGHLIGHT BRUSH
This continues to be my favourite highlighter brush of them all, the tapered shape means for easy application and the long, soft bristles make blending out harsh pigmentation a breeze. It can also be used for contouring cheekbones but I tend to save it for my highlighters…
E.L.F FAN BRUSH
I was very intrigued by the fan brush shape so grabbed the cheapest option a while ago. I’ve got to admit it’s actually surprisingly effective. If I’m not after a huge amount of glow, this is my go-to. It provides a softer wash of colour, rather than intensely placing it on the cheekbones.
SIGMA F35 TAPERED HIGHLIGHTER BRUSH
As I’ve mentioned before, this luxurious beauty is pretty much the exact same shape as the Sephora brush. Nowadays, I don’t find myself reaching for this one as much as the MP – it’s lost it’s shape a little bit after being washed. Sure, it’s still super luxurious but for a fraction of the price, the Models Prefer brush gets the job done.
REAL TECHNIQUES BOLD METALS 300 TAPERED BLUSH BRUSH
Although it’s designed for blush, I find that this small, tapered brush works a little better for blending out my highlighter. It’s a similar shape to the ABH #23 but a little denser. Normally, I don’t apply my highlighter with this one but I find it does a great job of diffusing it out so it looks nice and natural.
