People have been going crazy for the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. And for good reason too, I knew I had to have it as soon as Jaclyn Hill declared her love for it so I grabbed it. Nowadays, it’s hard to come by due to UD changing the formula around, only adding to the hype now that’s more exclusive. I’ve been loving it for for a couple of months now but I’ve been having more and more people ask what I thought of it compared to another favorite of mine, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, so I thought it was worth wrapping up all of my thoughts in one post.
When it comes to packaging, both are pretty and practical. Both have a sponge-y applicator but they’re vastly different in design. The NARS offering has the standard doefoot applicator. It picks up a bit of product and distributes it nicely but it is quite stiff which means it can be a tiny bit harsh if you’re using it on delicate skin, such as around your eyes. The Urban Decay concealer has a longer, flat applicator which is really bendy and makes it easy to spread the product. I much prefer the UD applicator – each side of the applicator picks up just the right amount of product for me to use under my eyes so it’s super handy. In the UD concealer, I go for the shade Fair Neutral, the lightest from the range. In the NARS range, I have two different shades, Chantilly and Vanilla, again, the two lightest from the range. I use Chantilly for under eye highlighting and Vanilla for blemishes, as I’ve spoken about before. Fair Neutral and Chantilly are fairly close matches to each other, Fair Neutral is slightly lighter and pinker. The UD range has eight shades and the NARS range has ten which means that technically, you’re slightly more likely to find a match at the NARS stand.
But formula’s what really counts, hey? And that’s where it gets a little harder to tell them apart. Both are thin yet creamy concealers that pack a punch when it comes to pigment. I find that the Urban Decay concealer is a little thinner and easier to blend in to the skin than the NARS concealer, which can often take a bit of warming up and messing about with before it’ll start looking natural on the skin. Both wear well throughout the day with no creasing under the eyes. The NARS Creamy Concealer is slightly more likely to flake up on dry patches and blemishes due to it being a little thicker.

Overall, I’ve noticed that since the Urban Decay concealer came home with me, the NARS Creamy Concealers have been sitting unloved in my drawers. The Urban Decay one is just so foolproof and easy to use, it’s particularly fond of the Beauty Blender, too. So it’s been on daily rotation under the eyes. It’s even slightly cheaper than the NARS offering! Needless to say, Urban Decay has knocked NARS out of it’s top spot in my concealer collection.
